simple harmonic quantity :

Periodic quantity that is a sinusoidal function of the independent variable. Thus y = A sin({omega}t + {phi}), where y is the simple harmonic quantity, A is the amplitude, {omega} is the angular frequency, and {phi} is the phase of the oscillation. The maximum value of a simple harmonic quantity is amplitude A.
